The Fool Meets The Empress
After meeting his “Spiritual” mother, The Fool continues his journey and meets his “archetypal” mother.

She sits on a pillowed throne in a field surrounded by the wilderness. Wearing a soft, billowy gown covered in pomegranates, her laurel wreath crown is made up of 12 stars and she holds a scepter in her hand. Her scepter is a sign of power. On top of it is the world and a symbol of her dominion over the earthly plane. She is the goddess of love, abundance and fertility. She embodies all facets of love, not just the romantic kind, and is seen as the mother in the Major Arcana.
Beside her sits a shield with the symbol for Venus on it, showing The Fool the connection between sensuality and fertility. Showing him protection in the presence of her motherly energy. Signs of fertility are all around her as she represents Mother Nature. The pomegranates on her gown are a symbol of the cycle of birth, death and rebirth.
Is that a maternity dress she’s wearing?
The laurel wreath on her head houses 12 stars and is a representation of the mystical woman in Revelations 12:1 who wears a crown of 12 stars on her head. She’s here to “birth” The Fool and send him out into the world. Her message to The Fool is that love and abundance flows to him effortlessly. Just as nature is effortless so stand aside and let her do her thing.
Now that we’ve met the Mother, she sends The Fool on his way to meet the Father. She says he has some wisdom he will need as he grows into a man.
His journey so far has been a loving experience, bringing those into his life who will help to steer him in the right direction and give him the guidance he needs.
What message or lesson will The Emperor have for him?
