There are many different reasons we can suffer from magical attack, and as witches and/or magicians, we can have a hard time admitting that we are under attack, but it happens.
While a good witch is always warded, and strengthening our minds and our spirits should be daily practices, sometimes it’s just not enough.
I’ve got off and on 30 years experience under my belt and I’ll be the first to admit that I’ve been attacked. If you saw my post about the things that can affect our magic then you understand how easily this can happen.
While I work to create a space of love and safety, I am not one to ignore the simple facts:
- Others are jealous through no fault of our own (hopefully)
- Coveting is real and many times lead to unhealthy actions
- There are predators posing as house pets
- Energy vampires are everywhere and will suck you dry
- People fuck around with magick like it’s a game. They can and will do harm
- There are those who do not practice magick but have will strong enough to create change
- We have every right to protect ourselves
What are the symptoms of an attack? A spiritual attack can manifest symptoms in numerous ways but for the most part, you can divide symptoms into three basic categories:
- External conditions
- Mental conditions
- Physical conditions
External Conditions
Attacks of this nature affect the probabilities of events or luck in a person’s life. This creates what is known as “crossed” conditions. This often starts with mild feeling of being out of step with time. It’s as if you can no longer manage to be in the right place at the right time. No matter what you do, you find that you can’t get anywhere on time. This can be accompanied by patterns of bad luck and everything you touch going wrong. We all have those days that every move we make seems to be in the wrong direction. This includes things just falling apart in your hands or for me personally, symptoms of just being clumsy.
I’ve been there, trust me.
I know that when I have days of unbalance I can’t walk across the floor without falling.
Left alone, external conditions can snowball and get out of control.
For instance you can:
-Lose your job
-Your relationship can fall apart
-You can get blamed for things you didn’t do
-You can end up in trouble.
The possibilities are limited by the power of the person launching the attack. We should be diligent in paying attention to how out of alignment we get.
Mental Conditions
There are mental conditions we can suffer from and the effects from magical attacks make us feel like we are cursed. The most common mental symptom is feeling the feeling of despair, oppression, anxiety and fear without any real reason. Confusion and moments when you cannot focus and terrible dreams are also a sign of attack.
*Now this is not to say that for people like me who suffer from anxiety that I am being attacked. I’m just saying that these are some of the symptoms of the mental condition.
Experiencing things like this that we normally do not experience in our lives. For me it goes from normal anxiety to jacked up weirdness.
Physical Conditions
For physical conditions we can get headaches that feel odd and aren’t like normal headaches or even migraines. Sometimes when we lay down to go to sleep we get aches that gather on one side of our heads that indicates the direction that the attack is coming from. Weird headaches are said to be the most problematic in case of parasitic or vampiric attacks. In these cases they weaken us physically and we feel fatigued or just drained in an “un-normal” way. This happens often and can be unintentional between family members or close friends. In these vampiric attacks, sometimes the people don’t realize they’re being an energy vampire, but they keep asking for your spoons or just taking from you.
And it drains you.
Energy vampires are just the worst, aren’t they? Talk about just tired and worn out.
There are various ways these three conditions can manifest in our lives and I am not one to tell you to look for signs and omens in everything and try to make it fit into your reality. I know that the world is magical; however some of us “pre-frame” ourselves daily by setting ourselves up to look for magic in every single thing that happens around us.
Everything is magical, yes, but not everything is magick.
When we strengthen our knowledge and understand that we are all flowing together it is much easier to ascertain whether we are under attack or if we are daydreaming and trying to fit shit into our lives. That’s for you to decide as self-awareness and self-control are the basis of all good things.
Witchcraft is a craft that predates the invention of Wicca and crosses, boundaries of culture and religion. Attacks usually happen from lower vibe individuals who are jealous or hold some sort of grudge against us.
Make no mistake – this could also be the result of breaking a vow to one of our deities or not following through with a task we promised to complete.
All magic comes with a price tag.
I am going to share a couple of different conjure hands to help protect you.
A conjure “hand” is also known as a mojo bag or gris-gris bag. You create them by gathering the appropriate materials into a flannel drawstring bag of the appropriate color and carry or wear them.
I keep mine in my bra.
The number of ingredients should be an odd number 3, 7 or 9 being the most popular, but it is said that you should avoid bags with more than 13 ingredients.
Here are a few simple bags and ingredients that I really like and keep on my person.
The Devil’s Hand
9 pieces of Devil’s shoestring to bind up the evil, a devil’s nut to scare it off and some devil’s dung to drive it away. Place all of it in a black bag and carry it on you. Devil’s shoestring is expensive, so try to get only what you need.
A Reversing Hand
Eucalyptus leaves, salt and crab shells carried in a red bag will reverse spells and harm sent. Yay reversals, huh?
Angelic Protection
This one is a personal favorite as it’s said to smooth things out in a “less confrontational” way.
Angelica root, balm of Gilead buds and salt. Wrap it up and carry in a white cloth.
These hands are made and worn on your person for best results.
To find these ingredients, consult the Oracle of Google or look on Etsy. I always recommend buying from a reputable root worker or witch. I get mine from a strega that I know personally.
Be safe out there. The internet and world around us is dark and full of assholes.
