February’s New Moon in Aquarius is a great time to set your personal goals and intentions for the whole year. Called the Snow Moon or the Hunger Moon, it’s time to sow some seeds for the oncoming months and this ritual is so easy it’ll blow your mind. February is a time to reflex and rest, so meditate as long as you want with this or even incorporate a ritual bath. Your choice.
But first, a story …because I love stories.
Last February new moon I did this spell and used a box. Not just any box but a special box that housed a special gift sent to me during employment with a special person.
The box was actually really pretty as far as shipping boxes go, believe it or not (it came from Harry & David) and it represented a few things:
1. As an entrepreneur, I was working on someone’s team and wanted my own team. I had some steps to climb.
2. As a professional in my field, that box was a symbol to me – a goal. I wanted to be able to send my clients gifts from Harry & David for the holidays (which I did this year) and that simple little box help set my intention.
I wanted to surpass the person who sent me that box, but not in a dark way. More of an inspiring “ooooh this is what I want to be” kind of way.
And it worked. This year I sent Harry & David to my male clients and Swarovski annual crystal ornaments to the women.
I created my intention box and put my intentions on a piece of paper in invisible ink and set it at the bottom of the stairs leading to my office representing the steps I intended to climb in 2018.
This box sat there undisturbed for 4 months, hardly even noticeable because that is where I sat my purse when I came in and sometimes my shoes. In that little 10 inch spot there was something there to draw attention away from it – because the best place to hide anything is right out in plain site.
Then my husband decided to help with some housework and threw the box away. It was just a piece of paper in an empty box he thought.
…and that’s when your girl freaked the hell out. In a BIG way, too.
My husband knew about my little spells and was used to finding things around the house, but it was just an empty box with a piece of blank paper in it, for crying out loud.
He now understands why I was upset, but he is also the one who pointed out that…..
1. In 4 months I had my own small team
2. In 4 months I had literally quadrupled my income
3. In 4 months I cut my work time in half – meaning I worked half as hard and made 4 times as much
This spell WORKS, witches.
But let’s talk about what makes any spell or ritual WORK. Where does the real magic exist?
The REAL magick is inside us all. Any time that we set our intention and put our attention on it, we make shit happen. Learning how to focus our energy is key here.
It’s like people who get up every day and do a “gratitude” practice and nothing changes in their life and they can’t figure out why. Everyone else does one and they attract love, happiness and abundance, but they can’t.
Why?
The trick is to FEEL it. If I do a spell to manifest a new client, I meditate and hold that feeling of already having a new client. It’s not asking for it, but holding the feeling of already having it.
Plain and simple. Ask and ye shall receive. Say thank you like you already have it. Believe it.
BELIEVE IT BECAUSE IT IS 100% TRUE THAT YOU CAN CREATE YOUR OWN REALITY AND HAVE ANYTHING YOU WANT. BELIEVE IT BECAUSE WHEN YOU HOLD THAT FEELING OF HOW IT FEELS TO ALREADY HAVE IT, YOU ATTRACT MORE OF IT.
Whatever IT is. Love? Got it. Prosperity? There ya go. New shoes? Now we’re talkin’ – because you and I both know that nothing in this world feels like a pair of new shoes. Nothing. Fight me.
This is ritual is simple and all you need is a jar (I use a mini mason jar) a piece of paper, herbs in correspondence to your desires, a candle in the color that corresponds with your desire, a cauldron or burn safe bowl.
Light the candle and take 3 deeps breaths while staring at it and slip into your meditation. What is the feeling of having what you desire? Feel it and during this mediation, spread it out to the universe, she hears you.
Now take that piece of paper and write down your intentions for 2019. Is this the year you get that new car? Feel it. Is this the year you find your dream job? Imagine sitting at that new desk. Visualize having what you desire and think about the wheel of the year turning and how every new season will bring forth abundance. Let go of the HOW or WHAT here. If you’re jonesing for a new ride, don’t meditate on a red Malibu, but be grateful for your new car. Being specific is key, but not so specific that you smother the magic.
Be thankful for those shoes, not “the pair of black Jimmy Choos” kind of thing. Let all good things find their way to you.
Stay in meditation as long as you want and then open your eyes and write down your intentions. Be specific.
Light that paper with the flame from the candle and release it. All of it. Throw it in the cauldron and let it burn.
When it goes out, take the ashes and put into the jar and add the corresponding herbs (if you grow your own, make sure they are 100% dry). You can also add crystals or whatever you want to solidify your goals. Once I added some of my artwork.
Screw the lid on tight and set the jar next to the candle. Let the candle burn all the way down and then place the jar somewhere your husband won’t throw it away …although thinking back the use of invisible ink may have been the problem.
Recite:
My abundance come to me,
Manifest so I can see,
Everything an opportunity,
So mote it be.
I know that the incantation is a little whack, but ever since I used it the first time and it worked, I refuse to change it. You, of course, can say anything you want – whatever means something to you here and helps you keep your focus.
Now every month at the new moon, part of my monthly ritual is to take that jar out and meditate on it, giving thanks for everything that has manifested and recite that incantation again.
That’s it. I had someone ask me once a few years ago what to do if their intention for the year changed. My response? Create a new jar.
Now on the February new moon next year, you can reflect on your spell and before you create a brand new jar for the brand new year, go bury it in the yard forever.
