NEW MOON IN ARIES RITUAL

I AM EMBRACING MY MAGIC
The new moon for March, called the Growing Moon or the Pink Moon, marks the end of a cycle. Life moves through cycles, the sun rises and sets, while moon rises and sets completing the cycle of the day. The moon moves through 8 phases for the cycle of the month. The Wheel of the Year turns, bringing new seasons for the cycle of the year.
This new moon also starts a new cycle, in Aries, the first sign of the zodiac and is all about starting new things, which can sometimes be scary, but this time can ignite courage and swells with the beauty of re-birth and transformation.
In other words, this is the perfect time to set intentions and take the action required for change. This moon is a powerful one.
As we are being pulled to take control and flow easily in the direction we are being pulled. Where our energy flows, magic follows.
Each one of us has our own special magic and we are able to change our perceptions and create new beginnings. There is a new path for us to walk upon, so setting our intentions with this new moon brings the kind of power to create the greatest change we may ever experience, if we believe.
In the northern hemisphere where I live, the new moon was yesterday, on a Friday and my intention this new moon is to move forward with a new business partnership and so I chose to face the east when I performed my ritual.
The east represents the air element and helps with career issues, clarity, new business opportunities and financial matters as well as new beginnings.
I chose 2 different candle colors, green and white. White, of course, to heighten the power of the green, which is for prosperity, success and ambition, but also counteracts jealousy. During Mercury retrograde, I had a scuffle with someone over business that was fueled by the jealousy of a glass ego, so releasing this will also help unblock the path for me.
I chose vanilla, mint and sage for my incense, because vanilla and mint are just heavenly together, but also because these will always help assist with a job or career.
For my crystals, while I keep a big clear quartz on my altar at all times, I chose the biggest amethyst I had to help ease my anxiety over this new project. Rose quartz to help with the energy of my emotions and then those a piece of turquoise for strength, protection and to absorb the negative energy I’ve felt since that incident with someone I was working with. My goal here is to clear all blocks and take advantage of this the most powerful of new moons.
I keep my crystals cleansed and charged at all times, but since I planned this ritual last month, I charged them together with the last full moon and charged them with the job of helping raise the frequency and vibration of this ritual.
There are many ways to cleanse your crystals, and I will be writing a complete crystal blog series, but I want to explain what charging really means. When you cleanse your crystal, it’s blank. It doesn’t have a “job” and so we give it one by charging it. It’s as simple as holding them and focusing your intention for them, what you want to use them for. You’re telling them what their job is, how you want them to help you.
While I don’t go into casting circles or formations in these posts, because everyone does it differently (and I will have another series for new witches soon with all the juicy details on how to do a lot of things) and I don’t take pictures of my work, I do provide you with the tools I use and how I go about it, so let’s get started.
After you have cast your circle, your formation (if you use them) and raised your power, it’s important to start with an affirmation.
An affirmation is just a way of announcing your work and with the energy of Aries, “I AM” are the words that represent a motto for Aries if there ever was one.
I AM a successful part of this relationship.
I AM clearing the path and letting go of anything that doesn’t serve me with my work tonight.
I AM confident, courageous and successful in all I do and bring this into being.
When setting intentions, I like to write them down, and even add a sigil. After I focus and raise my power with my affirmation, I’m in a meditative state so I naturally flow into the craft.
In candle magic, I write down my intention, say my incantation and then light it on fire and let the candle burn while I stay in my heightened state and higher frequency. It’s important that while you do this, you hold that FEELING of already BEING what you’re asking for.
I like to use chime candles a lot, because they are smaller and burn quicker, but a lot of times I stay in the meditation and they’ve burned down by the time I’ve brought my attention back.
My incantation tonight was:
Moon, moon hear my desire
Earth to water, wind to fire
I ask it once and three by three
Bring my desire to harmony
So mote it be
The ashes from the paper that burned are now in my cauldron, and tonight I chose to just release it outside in the wind. My intentions are now in flight and I’m grateful for the outcome I’ve already felt.
Happy new moon, witches!
